Do I need to be an experienced collector?
No. Patrons can be collectors, families, founders, venues, civic groups, or supporters who want to make original work possible.
Can I support a project with other patrons?
Yes. Pooled patronage can support artists and projects that would be difficult for one patron to underwrite alone.
How are budgets handled?
Budgets should be scoped around artist fee, materials, production, installation, documentation, and timeline. Final terms are clarified before commitment.
For Artists

Do I need a finished proposal?
No. A strong direction, recent work, and a clear support need are enough to begin.
Can I apply without a patron?
Yes. BackTheBrush can review artists for patron matching or pooled support consideration.
Can I upload files?
For now, send portfolio links or cloud folder links. The static application flow does not upload files directly.
